The Aspen Art Museum's summer exhibtion is staged by the London-based artist Allison Katz. Katz, inspired by the ancient ruins she saw in her youth, worked together with the Archaeological Park of Pompeii. It is a great show whereby she recontextualizes contemporary works from famous contemporary artists and presented her own works.
Many of the works in the exhibtion are from art collections from private collectors living in and around Aspen. In addition, the exhibition features fragments and frescoes from Pompeii. The works are placed in patterns that resemble ancient domestic environments.
