So much fun visiting this immersive experience with the children during their winter holiday break. Designed by the architect David Adjaye and curated by the artist’s sisters Lisane Basquiat and Jeanine Heriveaux, including a recreation of Jean-Michel’s childhood bedroom and his studio.
The exhibtion provides a unique insight into the late artist's creative life, his voice and the multifaceted contributions of his oeuvre. With over 200 never-before-seen and rarely shown paintings, drawings, multimedia presentations, ephemera, and artifacts the exhibition tells the story of Jean-Michel from an intimate perspective, intertwining his artistic endeavors with his personal life, influences, and the times in which he lived.
From New York the exhibition will travel to Los Angeles and be open through October 15th 2023.
